new one from one of the best in the west (and beyond), a new style west coast ipa with a very light malt build, tons of hop character but very restrained bitterness, an easy drinking beer thats stronger than it presents, fresh as heck when i had it, and uniquely with the aroma as its best and most prominent feature, i loved this one, masterful execution as always from pfriem. blonde beer with fine clarity, lots of bubbles and white soda-like head, and light body, unassuming but active overall. the nose is epic, exotic without being experimental, contemporary without apparent pixie dust (phantasm), this is thiol forward and vinous anyway, kiwi, white grapefruit and its pith, so fresh it actually smells like the hop farm at harvest time, could be a wet hopped beer at this point, light cereal character to the grain, a neutral ferment, and some bitey citrusy bitterness evident, a little dankness, white grape, pear, lemon. the flavor is awesome too, unfurls a little differently than the aroma, honeydew now, elderflower, chardonnay, even notes of tarragon, white peach, and marmalade, but its neither overly juicy or cloying at all, its dry as a bone with flashing bitterness on the swallow, brisk and almost lagered feeling, almost rushed to a refreshing level by the peppy carbonation, this is gone in an instant, fresh the whole way, tight and clean, weedy and bold without being green or overdone at all, awesome bitterness, easy body, so refined and dialed in, distinct on the hop side too without being challenging, super cohesive and overall just amazing, one of the best hoppy beers ive had in 2025 so far, absolutely loved it!
