Wow, this is all over the place. Pours dark brown with no head, maybe a tan ring. Aroma is prune/chocolate. Taste is a bit fruity cider, a bit acid, a bit chocolate, a bit prune juice and it seems to change from sip to sip. Feel is very good and rich. Overall it's kinda hard to drink, but in a good unusual way.

Taster pour at OEC Brewing in Oxford, CT.

This one pours a dark brown/dark black-ish color, with a small white head, and a bit of lacing.

This smells like milk chocolate, oak, prunes, dried balsamic, mulled cider, red wine, roasted, malt, and espresso.

I was hoping that this would be good, but I was worried that it would be too sour or too weird. It still really is a stout at heart, with rich milk and dark chocolate, some smoke, maybe even some pepper, and definitely a clean roast character. The barrel aging adds some bizarre and complex flavors - definitely balsamic and red wine, spiced cider, dried prunes and plums, etc. It works strangely well.

This is pretty creamy, with a low level of carbonation, and a decent drinkability. There's no real booziness to be found.

I was worried this would way too weird, but BFM is usually trustworthy. So, I guess, unsurprisingly, this is good stuff.
