The Patersbier starts with perfumed floral hops, ripe pomme fruit, spice and candied citrus; there's a slight biscuit character on a dry, crisp finish. The monastic tradition looms large over every brewer, and this is truly a beer spirited away from a monk's table.

First tried this new brewery's beers at Winterfest and really enjoyed their Patersbier so had to make the trip to Roseville for a couple pints and a growler. First pint from the growler provides a couple fingers of sticky white head that laces the glass very nicely. Golden and crystal clear. Aroma is distinctively Belgian...yeasty, fruity esters with a nice clean crisp barley malt character, some subtle spicy hops in here too. Taste is like the aroma, a nice citrus fruity estery yeast quality with clean yet significant malt backbone. Finish is very clean and crisp with a moderately high carbonation. A very easy to drink brew with plenty of character. A top-notch Belgian style brew. Glad I don't have to be a monk to get my hands on this. World-class-impressive new beer. I'll be continuing to hit up this new brewery to check out their offerings. So far of the 3 I've tried this one is their star.

On tap at Stub & Herb's
Golden and clear with a good head, certainly appealing. Aroma is pils malt, touch of grassy hops and some phenols. Light malt base supporting crisp fruit, grass and spice. A little hop forward in my opinion, perhaps tailored so. Crisp, refreshing and very good.
