Bottle 185/250

A: Nice golden shade with a temporary white head (not nearly as much as unbarreled Acerbity).
S: Basic Acerbity grainyness/wheat with much more intense acidity.
T: Not as tart as expected from smell - lemon and apple, with brett and oak showing much more than the soft wine flavors. Finish is pretty short with a clean acidity and some chardonnay. Dry but not tannic.
M: Very light body with a medium-high carbonation. Spritzy but not bubbly if that makes sense.

Very nice. Skillful use of barrels, taking a delicate refreshing beer and gently accenting it with oak/wine. I'm not a huge fan of the style, but you're not going to find too many better.

Bottle 141/250 courtesy of Steasy66, a scholar and a gentleman (...well a scholar anyways).

Appearance. Pours a lightly hazy straw-gold with two fingers of frothy head that settles down pretty quickly. Very nice for the style.

Smell. Sweet wheat and oaky white wine ...I would say chardonnay but my wine experience is a bit limited. Some decent lactic sourness is also there as it should be.

Taste. Oh yeah, that's the stuff. Lactic sourness at a perfect level, hits hard up front but becomes very comfortable and enjoyable after the first couple sips. Some wheat flavours, but only the slightest amount of sweetness. Finish has some nice barrel wood and a bit of that white wine that also seems to contribute to the acidity.

Mouthfeel. Light body, fairly high level of carbonation that's very fine and lively. Pretty much perfect.

Overall. As with all the PD Berliners, this is a real pleasure to drink. The rest of this bottle will be consumed while building Ikea kids furniture. Couldn't have chosen a better beer for the task.

I've stopped out at Pour Decisions several times, and have been very impressed with their brews. I love that they attempted something so interesting, and that it turned out so well! This is a beautiful example of a Berliner Weiss. It's aged in Chardonnay barrels and limited to 250 bottles, brewery only. The nose is wonderful, you can smell the Chardonnay very clearly. It is crisp and bubbly, with a dry finish. Delicious - I hope that they make another batch!
