For our sixth anniversary offering, rather than barrel-age one beer, we kept a small reserve of our three most recent Legendary Series ales in their barrels—a barleywine, wheat wine, and rye wine inspired by the Three Fates of Greek mythology. With extra time to mature, these brews mellowed in their barrels before our brewers then carefully blended the three beers together to highlight each one’s best properties. And to make a great thing even better, they added a small amount of BBT to the final blend. The result is a beautifully cohesive beer with rich, harmonious flavors including toffee, coconut, vanilla, and candied fruit. We like to think of it as a twist of fate, but you’ll think of it as one of our most innovative beers to date.

Looks like a Belgian Quad that is typically strong in smell and taste. No head at all to speak of. Strong aroma of molasses and dark fruit. The alcohol is up front too. Taste is fantastic and reminds me of a favorite Oklahoma beer, DNR. Maybe just a touch smoother. A fabulous brew and the Brewers should be proud. My #2 Lakewood, BBT is still my Queen. PLEASE! May I Have Another! Good Luck finding this one. On draft at Ron’s Corner Tavern.

Lion's share VI from Lakewood brewery, Texas, is a blend of 50% Rye Whiskey Barrel Aged Rye Wine, 20% Chardonnay Barrel Aged Wheat Wine, 20% Bourbon Barrel Aged American Barley Wine, 10% Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Milk Stout, ABV 12.50%, IBU 68. I have to say WOW what a blend. It is the best blend I've ever had. It is strong, but it is not boozy and it is slightly sweet (not too much), fruity, chocolatey, hint of bourbon flavor is perfect. Like the best dessert. It is hot like hell in Texas and I was drinking it while grilling antelope, and yet it was both refreshing, thirst quenching, and had a sweet and fruity flavor that felt like eating dessert while grilling. I’ve never done this but I have to give this unknown small brewery blend a perfect score.
Look: Dark brown with a thick mocha colored head
Aroma: dark fruit, raisin, red wine, chocolate, bourbon.
Taste: The flavor is primarily dark fruit (raisins, plum, grapes), chocolate, it is a bit sweet, red wine, some bourbon but not overwhelming,
Feel: a perfect medium to full body, easy drinking.
