12oz canned 2-5-19 (opened 3-17-19) from Lakewood's new Small Batch Series.
1" white head, minimal retention and falls to a cap. The beer is a deep golden, copper/amber color almost. Not super hazy as the can advertises.
Ripe, tangy fruits. You can smell the sour if that's possible. Tropical and citrus aromas but almost "Warhead" candy-like. I can faintly make out a doughy malt base.
Tart and tangy upon entry. Bracing acidity, lemons and citrus flavors mainly. Pithy bitterness of a navel orange.
Bright mouthfeel. Medium carbonation. High acid. Lengthy sour finish - plenty of salivation.
Unique, interesting and unexpected.

Appearance: Arrives clear and golden with a thick head that leaves sheets behind
Smell: Lemon pith tones, the tartness comes through on the aroma
Taste: A tart opening, with the lemon dominant; the bitter tones build, after the swallow, and merge with the sour flavors in the finish
Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: Marketed as a Sour IPA (not sure what style box that fits into here), the brewer has done a nice job balancing the sour and bitter flavors
