12oz can from Beer Drop (thanks for the gift card, Greg). My first beer from Texas in a long while, and first ever from this brewery. According to the stamp on the bottom rim of the can, this was canned on March 19th, 2024, which is not promising.
Poured into a Shaker pint glass, this was a hazy, orangey shade of amber. Tight, modest bone-white head. Said head wasn't particularly impressive looking but had remarkable staying power. Decent lace, of the ringed variety.
Earthy, wheat nose and banana-like coriander scent. Nothing else.
Flavor is just like the nose. Earthy grain notes and a banana-ish flavor, with most of the emphasis on the former. As it warms there's a little bit of a butterscotch type sweetness. I suspect that's probably something brought on by the fact that this beer is around 10 months old.
Fairly creamy mouth feel. Not terribly surprising in a wheat beer. Body was a bit heavy for the style.
An okay wheat beer, definitely marred by its age. Not the greatest introduction to Beer Drop, but at least now I know they don't look at dates.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
