No hoppines, their version of a stout. Nice aroma and coffee notes.

Not really sure how to classify this one. On one hand the brewer calls it a black ale, thereby disqualifying it from being a schwarzbier. However, it is also has almost no hop presence, so Black IPA doesn't fit. Since it is brown in color and has a taste profile similar to a brown ale, that is what I entered it as.
On tap at Jack Mac's. The beer pours a brown color with an off-white head. The aroma has some toffee and a light amount of roasted malt. The flavor has some toasted character, as well as some cocoa and a light amount of grass. I also get a little bubblegum character but I am not sure where that comes from. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
