Purchased locally, no dating on the can.
It pours a clear pale gold with plenty of foam and leaves some lacing.
The smell is toasted malt, hints of spices, perhaps a little bit nutty. Not a very bold smell going on.
The taste is toasted malt, an odd flavour of hops, bit of spice, and a weird finish and aftertaste.
Good enough mouthfeel.
A weak entry for Prost, imho.

I wasn't quite as enthused with this one as I thought I would be. It's a solid bock, but it's a little too bitter for my liking. It's not a winter warmer, so don't come in expecting that. But I thought the balance was just a bit off on this one, and there are other Prost beers I like more.

12oz, canned October 9th 2023
In the pour, just over 2 fingers of white bubbly head formed on top of a slightly hazy deeply golden body. Some bubbles cling to the glass, but no lacing rings are formed.
Aroma is largely dominated by noble hops, and general pale German lager aromas. Herbal notes with some lemony citrus, and a soft crackery pale malt. Simple, but traditional.
Taste follows the aroma, but brings a more mellow malt flavor, as well as some nice noble hop bitterness. The flavor is quite full, making it qualify as a bock beer, but this is definitely a pale lager, and a good one at that, which would make this a Maibock AKA Helles Bock.
Feel is slightly dry, but very full, with a long malty finish. Easy drinking, but it definitely forces you to slow down a bit.
Overall this is a nice canned example of a Maibock. Solid German style pale lager, but not afraid to embrace it's bock roots.

Clear golden color with a moderate but lasting white head and some very nice lacing.
The aroma is lightly toasted bread, hints of lemon and floral hops.
The taste is light caramel malt, light toasted bread, honey and lemon. The finish is slightly dry with floral hops notes.
The body is light/medium, moderate carbonation, very drinkable.
Altogether, this is a very nice golden bock, tasty and refreshing.

Subtle sweetness balanced by more aggressive hops. Quite nice.

12 fl oz pull-tab can from a $20 Prost variety 12-pack box:
"Golden bock-style lager." "winter lager." 6.0% ABV.
Clean, crisp, and malty. Not quite as drinkable as I'd expect a 6% ABV bock to be.
Tends slightly towards a vegetal flavour.
High C / AVERAGE
