1st review of this beer on BA. Untappd says 6% but my can said 7%. Wouldn't be much of an imperial pilsner otherwise?
Pours a golden color, night quite hitting the clarity spot, almost got there, its a darker gold leaning into a light amber. 1/4" white head. The aroma hit on the lager yeast, nice hop usage, seems to be a bittering hop and a noble/saaz traditional lager one going on.
Taste, there is definitely 'more' going on than a traditional non imperial pilsner, but its not over the top. More pilsner malt, more bitterness, more hops. Its a little more heavy, but the very nicely done yeast aspect just gives it the sensation of more levity than it should in the mouth feel. I enjoyed these in a variety of settings, around the pool, at the river, on the golf course, at softball games. Fit in nicely everywhere. This beer definitely excels at bringing out the lager yeast notes. Might be the best thing Brewer's Cabinet has ever made. Great name, cool sticker.
