Picked this up as a to go can from BeerNV. Good liquidation prices even if this brewery is just up the road on the other side of town. They call it a kolsch, but man, I didn't get much in the way of a good kolsch here, was more akin to a blonde ale or AAL if you are married to the notion of it being a lager.
Pours golden and has good clarity. Looks clean. The 1"+ white head itself was nice but also suggestive of being overcarbonated, even for style. The smell wasn't lager or kolsch to me. There was grain. And then there was neutrality.
The abv is low, the hopping seems minimal and appropriate. Still mostly a bready grain presence. Light sawdust feel. The mouth feel is substantially heavier than it should be for multiple reasons. The high carbonation still doesn't pick it up. The lack of a dry or chamagne like feel to the carbonation. The breadiness is heavier than desired. Lacks kolsch/lager mouth feel. I wish the mouth feel was as good as the appearance, it looks like it would be lighter and crisper, but that is why you don't judge a book by its cover.
By comparison, Sorry For Partying was a lager that hit the spot moreso because it tasted like the style of beer it was.
