not exactly an old world pils, a little stronger, and with some american hops packed in, a flavorful and well refined pour, sturdy for the winter, piney, neat with the european pale malt in this, a best of both worlds type of beer. looks pretty light, normal pils pour, clear and yellow with some shine and fizz, short white head. nose shows high minerality and earthiness before woodsy hops, bitter as these go, but real fresh, nice full lager yeast profile and crispness too, clean and citrusy, warms up in an appealing way too, a little more bready to me then. lighter on the grain than it smells, and light in body too for how bold this is overall, hints of lime and herbal tea, spruce, but its not over the top, and the back end bitterness is welcome. good lager yeast character throughout, nicely lagered for sure, clean with a refreshment capacity, professionally made for sure, and subtly unique in terms of the recipe. the two beers we had here were solid for sure, and its easy to see why these guys have the reputation they do. no frills and well crafted. the reno scene is popping right now and this place is a cornerstone. limited beer list when were were in wasnt an issue with this level of quality.
