On-tap at Mugs Alehouse, Brooklyn, NY

A: The beer is very dark red in color and has a slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high beige head that died down, leaving a large patch of bubbles on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of whiskey and grainy malts are present in the nose; the smell becomes a little stronger as the beer warms up.
T: The taste has notes of whisky and oak flavors along with hints of dark fruits. No alcohol is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation with slight bits of warming from the alcohol.
O: While this beer is aged in whisky barrels, it has subtle aromas and flavors so it doesn’t overpower the beer and you don't get any alcohol in the taste. The oak in the barrels also seems to lighten up the base of the underlying quadruple.
