Copenhagen 2/5 2023. 33 cl bottle from Belgisk Bryg, Emdrup Mosevej, Kbh. NV. A Jack of Spades drinking beer on the label.
Pours slightly unclear yellow with a midsized white head. Stable. Settles as 1 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with sharp sour grains. Overwhelming scent of alcohol. Sweet pale malts, sweet apricot, metallic alcohol and a whiff of citrus.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, almost flat texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a bitter undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is metallic alcohol.
Harsh and a bit too much.

First of all, I'm not a huge fan of the 'regular' Schuppen Boer. It's not bad, consider it as a dim a dozen kind of tripel. But this tweaked version. I kinda like it !!! Bold & sweet, with a long lasting after taste ! After dinner with Maxima, yes sir :-)

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
