Copenhagen 16/4 2016. 70 cl bottle from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh. Ø. Classic golden label with a red silhouette of a red rooster.
Pours clear pale yellow with a dense white head. Settles as thin layer of foam. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is of malts with a sourish tinge. Bread and cardboard. Some metallic alcohol in the background.
Medium strong carbonation and a slightly thick palate. Lightly tingling texture.
Flavor has a discrete malty sweetness and a nice bitterness which lingers in the aftertaste.
Nothing unforgettable - but a nice bitter strong beer.

Am not sure why this is retired because it is most definitely still available. I had a bottle of it today!
It's really simple to review this beer because it boils down to one thing - it's strong! The great thing is that it's not barley wine strong. It's a nice, slightly heavy pilsner type beer. I had my bottle nicely chilled and it went down very nicely. The smell is very nice and the first taste is excellent - crisp and satisfying. It's in the after taste that this beer is different. It has all of the tones of a strong lager but manages to merge, mingle and mask them within the taste of a lower volume beer which makes it more easily drinkable. It also gives a nice buzz. I really enjoyed this beer.

This from a 20 oz. bottle brought to me by my brother. Many thanks.
Aroma show a nice pale pils malt aroma witha slightly spicy hops character.
Full white head that recedes quickly. Brilliantly clear yellow/gold.
Malt based flavors witha nice sweetness that is followed by a bitterness that stays in a long finish.
Appropriately thins witha waterness. Nice softness with the carbonation.
Solid, good session beer, or beer associated with yard work.
