Copenhagen 10/8 2025. 33 cl bottle from a One Pint gift box. Gift from my in-laws. A little drawing of the local grocery shop on the corner. "Høkeren".
Pours clear yellow with a mid-sized white head. Stable. Settles as a paper thin layer of. foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is moderately intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with a more sourish scent. Sweet pales malts, bread and a bit of sour grains. Hint of grass and citrus.
Medium strong carbonation. Thin, watery, lively and tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a sweet undertone Lingers for a bit. Finish is semi-dry.
Simple sweetish Lager Beer. As you get them in the little simple Grocery shop on the corner.

A: As all other EPL. Light yellow, not much head
S: Practically no smell
T: Watery but has more taste than expected. Sweet and somewhat hoppy. Distinct pleasant aftertaste
M: Easy to drink and watery
O: A step higher than megabrew EPL. And also a step higher in price. Solid EPL and I always make sure to get a case or to when I'm in the mid-western parts of Denmark

The excellent water of Jutland is used for brewing this bright golden ale and this is significant for its very light, clear and fresh character.
The taste is a cut sweeter than the very fresh nose with only a hint of malt.
Of course there are hundreds of beers that may have a more complex oder maybe a spicier taste but Hancock Høker Bajer still is a tasty beer with its own character.

On-tap at Deerhavn in Copenhagen.
Pours a clear straw color with a half-finger white head. The head recedes into a wispy layer on top leaving light lacing.
Smells of light pilsner malts and not much else. As the beer warms the previously mildly bitter malt aromas sweeten a bit.
Tastes more complex than it smells. Crisp pilsner malt flavors kick things off and are joined midway through the sip by earthy hop flavors. The hops carry through to a moderately bitter ending. As with the aroma the malt flavors sweeten as the beer warms.
Mouthfeel is good. It's got a nice thickness with decent carbonation.
Drinkability is OK. I didn't have any problems finishing my glass however I'm not certain about another.
Overall I found this to be a cut above most macro pale lagers but it wasn't quite a step above. Not worth seeking out but a solid beer nonetheless.
