Bertha von Suttner, the first female to win a Nobel Peace Prize, took bold steps with a calm spirit. That’s exactly what The Baroness achieves by aging our traditional Bertha Oatmeal Stout in bourbon barrels – a smooth and spicy brew for every lord and lady.

2017 bottle.
Dark brown pour, almost black. Some bubbly, frothy foam, ivory white in color. Settles quickly.
Slight oxidation, lots of dark fruit and hints of roasty coffee. Pretty sweet, smooth. Lightly bitter in the finish.
Again, lots of dark fruit and roast flavors, more malt than on the nose. Also getting some good oakey barrel presence too. Very mild oxidation in the finish, but this is solid.
Smooth, warming. Subtle booze, light bitterness in the finish. Sticky.
