L: Thin head, very dark, slightly carbonated, reminiscent of flat Coca-Cola

S: Hops, slightly roasted, grapefruit citrus, something acidic? Almost vinegar-y

T: Bitter citrus, roasted flavour, almost coffee, alcohol notable but does a good job of hiding

F: Medium bodied yet hangs to the mouth, nicely slightly carbonated, alcohol quite notable if held in mouth

Nice head, dark brown body.
Aromas are roasts, and alcohol warmth, somewhat spirit like
Taste is surprisingly muted and smooth for ABV, lots of roasts, hint coffee/cappuccino big malt body, with choc aftertaste and moderate overall bitterness.
Mouthfeel is Alcoholic... Yep.
Overall, a nice package but not a Bomb which I might have expected.....

On tap at GABS 2014.

Pours a brown colour, bit paler than I would expect. Head is beige, foamy, and pretty decent though. Retains a nice thin crown.

Smells slightly roasty with bags of hops. Mostly US with lots of citrus character, and just a whisper of some caramel malts underlying. Pretty great aroma.

Taste is similar, maybe a bit lighter on the roasty notes. Caramel is still there with a touch of coriander midway before descending into big hop finish. Citrus and a touch of pine resin. Fairly well constructed palate, with nice balance.

Full body, touch of alcohol showing through though. Can't be avoided really.

Well-made brew, although bitterness lingers a bit long. I do tend to like my IBAs a bit more roasty than hoppy, but still a nice beer.
