Dark amber brown brew with plenty of foam in the chalice. Pleasant roasty aroma. Moderately sweet and quite bitter. Grainy taste softened by cocoa and then perked up with some coffee in the aftertaste. But still bitter without the usual hoppy flavors, or at least I don't get them. This has some pleasant roasted malt flavors but it is just too scorched and over-hopped to drink much of. From the 16 oz can dated 12/13/24.

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into my snifter. Can is date stamped 12/13/2024 packaged on. Received as part of a trade.
the beer pours a rich cola brown color and is a little darker in my glass. a fluffy beige head foams up about 3 cm and almost overtops the glass. Leaves some windowpane lattice as it fades.
Aroma is heavy roasted malts, hints of char and bakers chocolate. No sweetness on the nose, and no hop character either.
First sip reveals a medium body and very fine tingly carbonation with a smooth texture. Beer drinks pretty easy on the physical traits.
Flavor is baker's chocolate, roasted malts and a little charred note again. Very dry finish that lingers with a small amount of bitterness. None of that is from hops though, just dark malts. ABV never really shows through here either.
Overall a nice roasty stout that is very easy to drink. Glad I had a the chance to try this Northwest Brew!

On draft at Bottleworks. Dark brown pour, opaque with a little bit of head, mottled bubbles and an oily lace. Roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and hay aromas. Sweet start with a bitter finish. Moderately carbonated, full mouth feel, with a long finish, thick. A worthy beer.

I had this on-tap in a taster glass at the brewery.
Appearance: totally black with some brown highlights around the edges and a thin layer of creamy tan foam. Looks good!
Smell: richly malty with a lot of roasty character as well. This is a non-complex but very well-developed aroma.
Taste: relatively dry with a rich roastiness and coffee notes. Bitterness is relatively strong and comes in right at the end. I like the dryness accomplished in a lot of these Reuben's beers; it works pretty well here.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a very strong carbonation and a very nice creaminess. Kudos!
Overall: this beer is really hitting the spot for me. I feel like each element in its flavor was crafted with care. This is one great brewery.
