Using locally malted Skagit Valley Malt and lots of Galaxy and Amarillo hops, we brewed this beer to help the Latona Pub celebrate their 30 year anniversary.

On tap at the Tin Bucket yesterday. Had heard a lot of good things about this beer, and had been looking forward to trying it for quite some time.
The beer pours a very cloudy, nearly opaque tannish golden amber color with very light lacing and fair head retention. Really, this beer looks positively murky, and I'm wondering if it's really supposed to look like this. On the nose I get some noticeable tropical fruit and orange citrus, but nothing really extreme or out of the ordinary. Smells like a nice NE style IPA. The flavor profile is more of the same, though this beer does have some noticeable bitterness in the finish. There also seemed to be a slight alcoholic bite in the finish as well, that surprised me a bit (after all, the abv. is only around 6%). Mouthfeel is fairly light, though the beer certainly delivers considerable flavor for the abv. level. The finish seemed a bit short though, and as mentioned above, there did seem to be a bit an alcoholic bite on the finish. Drinkability was OK I guess, though I had no interest in ordering another glass (the one 12 ounce glass I had was plenty).
Given all the positively gushing comments I've heard about this beer, I was pretty surprised by my experience. While this certainly wasn't a bad beer, it wasn't anything extraordinary either. Some of the folks I know on BA have likened this a bit to the 2017 three way IPA, and while I agree there are some similarities, my take is that the 3 way is a much better beer. All that aside, I really think I need to give this beer a second chance, as it may be that I got a glass near the end of the keg (given the extremely murky appearance). For now at least, I'd have to call my experience with this beer something of a disappointment.

This beer combines what is arguably my favorite hop, with my favorite pub in Seattle, and one of my absolute favorite breweries. It's a fantastic rendition on the NE-IPA style, and a beautiful representation of all the parties involved.
