A thanks to the founding father of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a hazy, dark golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of pineapple, some guava. Taste is juicy, pineapple, guava, mild bitterness, alcohol is well hidden. Feels full bodied in the mouth and overall is an enjoyable beer.

Once more, the Tavour service comes through for The CANQuest (tm) is a big way! I may not be buying many bottled beers through them, but you CAN bet your bottom dollar that I am snapping up CANs as they become available.

From the CAN: "Fragile".

I Crack!ed open the vent & began a slow, gentle Glug, but when it turned out to be a hazy NE-style AIPA, I decided to speed things along slightly & give it a heavier hand. Once it was sufficiently decanted, an in-glass swirl created just over a finger of dense, foamy, rocky, tawny head with good retention, leaving nice lacing in its wake. Color was a deeply hazy/lightly cloudy Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7). Nose was very tropical fruity, heavy on the pineapple, but not lacking for mango, papaya & guava. When reviewing to style & not to taste, these suffer mightily since they are so far out of spec for the current style guidelines/descriptors. Oh well. Mouthfeel was full and creamy, which was certainly pleasant. The taste was very tropical fruity, which is fine if you like that sort of thing, but as a self-avowed, self-described hophead, this just leaves me craving some hoppy bitterness with an itch that this does not scratch. Finish was semi-dry, although I would not argue against semi-sweet, very tropical fruity and just not in keeping with the style as it currently exists. YMMV.

5 week old can in nonic pint.

L: Hazy bronze orange with 1 finger of medium density white head with moderate retention and left mixed lacing.

S: Tropical and juicy nose, but a bit mute. Mango, papaya, and guava. Slight floral undertones.

T: Followed nose well, very juicy, more dynamic. Finished with limited bitterness and mild astringency, clears palate quickly.

F: Low-medium bodied, lighter carbonation, fluffy on the tongue and swallow.

Delicious and well executed NE-style DIPA. Very easy drinking and I can only imagine how great this beer was hyper fresh.
