A thanks to the captain of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a hazy golden color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of pineapple, some citrus. Taste is pineapple, oranges, mild bitterness. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer, but a bit mild for the style.

I love the idea of brewing from a competition. I will say this, hazy IPAs are not my favorite style of beer, but....this is a very good, super drinkable brew.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass.Pours a very hazy medium golden amber with a fine two finger white head with great retention and thick lacing; classic NE IPA look. Aroma of pale malt, tropical and mild citrus hops with a bit of dankness, pineapple, mango, orange and lemon. Flavor follows with pale malt, orange, mixed tropical fruit with no individual flavor standing out, a little dankness and caramel. Mild lingering tropical fruit juice and mild hop bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. Covers all the bases for this style with a nice mixture of citrus and tropical fruit and the stylistic light hops. This one kept my interest throughout the can, with the usual mild disappointment with the emphasis on hop fruit flavor rather than bitterness, but at least this one let me know it was a hazy so I know what I was getting into. Reuben's handles every style really well and this no exception. A worthy recipe for this series. Not my style, but I enjoyed it more than the last version (perhaps my palate is being trained too).
