375ml bottle poured into a snifter at 52°F. No bottle date, but the beer was released on the 22nd of September.
L: Beautiful hazy straw color with vibrant off-white head providing that nice noisy popping sound you get from soda.
S: Guava. Hint of barnyard funk, but guava dominates.
T: I certainly get the guava but it's balanced pretty evenly with the grainy taste of a saison. They describe this as rustic saison aged in oak which was then aged on top of fruit, and it's on the line between the two. Unfortunately I'm not picking up much from the brettanomyces.
F: Very high carbonation. Very prickly on the tongue. Medium-light body. Not puckering at all.
O: I like this beer, but I expect a bit more depth from a beer aged on oak with brettanomyces and then aged on top of fruit before refermenting in the bottle. I'd like to see more funk in the beer, but that's the type of beer I like.
