2020 Edition
Appearance: Pours inky black with a three finger beige head; pancake bubbles appear on the top as the head slowly descends, leaving clumps and squiggles all over
Smell: Chocolate fudge, vanilla and oak with a caressing Bourbon tone
Taste: Chocolate fudge and vanilla forward with the Bourbon and vanilla emerging to complement; oaky, after the swallow; while there is a hint of honey in the finish, it is not overly sweet
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with moderate carbonation; some warmth in the gullet
Overall: Having first encountered Reuben's Brews when they were operating out of an industrial location and later visiting the brewpub in a much more impressive setting, I am delighted to have been able to try this rare treat; this is a BB Imperial Stout just like I like it - silky smooth and well-balanced between the Bourbon and the stout elements
Thanks, BEER88, for the opportunity
