This beer seems pretty similar to Reuben's Robust Porter, but with the coffee added. The coffee is well done. This isn't a little coffee taste from the roasted malts, it's a straight coffee infusion. At the same time, it's still a mild beer, keeping with the porter character. There are much stronger coffee beers around (Santa Fe Java Stout, Founders, etc.), if you are looking for an "iced coffee" character. But Reuben's has done a nice job in adding in coffee, without letting it dominate. Good stuff.

This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells mostly like roasted malt, with some dark chocolate, and a hint of coffee.

The coffee is complimentary to the roasty porter here, rather than completely being the star. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as the porter itself is brewed well and is pretty high quality.

This is medium bodied, with a smooth but roasty bite on the back end. It’s quite drinkable.

This is a pretty subtle but tasty take on the style.

Bought a single 16oz can Village Bottle Shop $3.99
42 days old
Smell of freshly brewed coffee
Dark black color
Medium-heavy mouthfeel, some creaminess
Taste of coffee with a little cream in it, light bitterness finish
Overall a good beer if you like coffee, which I do.

16oz tallboy can purchased at Main Market Co-op, in downtown Spokane, for $3.29. Canned on January 18, 2021, per the stamp on the bottom of the can. This is Reuben's Robust Porter that was brewed with coffee from Kuma Coffee, a Seattle roaster.

Poured into the glass, this was a almost black dark brown, with a creamy looking beige head that left lots of lace.

Initially, the nose is mildly coffeeish, with nothing else of note. As it warms, more traditional porter aromas emerge. A dry, bitter dark malt aroma emerges, but it's obvious that there's been some "boosting" done with actual coffee.

Coffee and dry, toasty bitter malts hit the tastebuds first. Midway through, a more sweet, cocoa-ish taste comes in the make the beer's progress through a little more friendly, but it remains a dry brew through to the swallow.

Mouthfeel is a little watery for a porter.

A pretty good coffee porter that was enjoyable without being transcendent. I wouldn't turn down another one, but I wouldn't go out of my way for another, either.
