Can from Uptown Market
A hazy light yellow with a dense white head. The nose is a nice blend of spicy rye complemented by orange peel and a nice yeast expression. The rye character is delicate and complements the base wheat as well. The palate opens light and crisp, with grainy wheat, a blend of straw, wheat, a little bit of rye and orange peel. Deftly spiced with a nice coriander note. A touch watery, but otherwise, quite excellent.

L: Pours a slightly hazy straw body with a dense white head.
S: Coriander, lemon, yeast
T: The rye comes out here. It’s pretty mild, but changes the character of the beer so it’s not immediately recognizable as a wit.
F: Medium-light body, dry finish
O: Interesting take on a witbier

Poured into a weizen glass. Pours a light to medium straw yellow with faint gold notes and a two finger white head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of mildly grainy wheat, lemon and coriander. Flavor is wheat, coriander, light rye and lemon; dry wheat finish with mild rye tartness. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess; a bit more robust mouth feel than most witbiers. A pleasant wheat beer with a fairly traditional witbier base of wheat and lemon spiced with coriander. The rye is mild, but adds an interesting character to the traditional wheat base. The finish is fairly dry, which is interesting. Flavor tapers off into the finish, but is redeemed by the rye notes in the aftertaste. Glad to see another use of rye be Reuben's, their imperial rye has been one of my favorites for a long time. Nice change of pace Belgian inspired beer.

Reuben's has been doing rye beers for quite a while, and they know what they are doing. This is a rye witbier. It's a cloudy yellow, with a nice white head. The smell and taste are coriander, rye, and yeast. It's got a solid Belgian character to it. Very good stuff.
