Lovely pour that's deep deep chestnut brown bordering on more than that. Big pillow of medium brown foam that won't give up its seat.

Nose is toasted grains and black coffee and that ilk. Keep it simple, keep it safe. I guess it's not really secret, so maybe that doesn't follow. I digress.

Flavour leans heavily into the dark dark coffee and char. Some deep nuttiness underneath and just the faintest blush of dark chocolate to add sweetness and balance.

Body is not quite as creamy/rich as I hope for out of an oatmeal stout. Dry and heavy on the char.

Overall this is quite bold and flavourful for a (by modern standards anyway) diminutive 5%.
It's hitting the spot on this chilly night, anyway.
