Pours a nearly clear pale amber with long-lasting foam in the Kolsch glass. Watery body with modest carbonation. The citrus peel tastes more like grapefruit than orange, and while it's not overly bitter there is some lingering bitterness. The coriander is fairly strong in the aftertaste and adds some heat. This is an interesting take on the Wit theme but the lingering bitter spice and hot citrus is tiresome. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station. Date not legible.

16-ounce can purchased at John's Marketplace in Beaverton, OR. Date stamp reads "04/23/25). Enjoyed in a nonic half-pint glass.

Look:
It certainly looks the part: the cloudy body is an enticing pale peach-gold color topped with frothy white foam. The head shrinks to a narrow collar and a big island within a few minutes, but leaves plenty of lacing.

Smell:
The nose leads with bright orange zest followed by bold notes of clove and coriander on a bed of grainy malt. I don't get a lot of Citra character, but it's probably a bit overwhelmed by the orange zest.

Taste:
Citra Wit does exactly what it says on the can: Citra, then Wit. There's a rush of orange juice and orange zest enhanced with a spritz of lime and mango. The beer starts off on the sweet side but dries quickly, at which point coriander becomes prominent but thankfully not overwhelming. The finish shows off toasty grain and lingering spiciness with a kiss of tart orange.

Feel:
The body is on the lighter end of medium and slightly creamy. Carbonation is lively and finely-textured.

Overall:
Reuben's Citra Wit is a satisfying version of the style.I particularly enjoyed punchy orange character and the delicate lime and tropical notes that the Citra hops brought to the party. Lip-smacking. It's traditional enough to scratch that warm-weather witbier itch, but interesting enough to lift it above the crowd. Really nice beer.

From the can, the beer pours a whitish gold color with good head retention and lacing. On the nose, this is a textbook witbier, showcasing considerable clove, nutmeg, coriander and spice. That being said, I'm not really getting more than a hint of the Citra hops in the aroma profile. On the palate however, this is really impressive. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely, but on the palate the Citra hops are quite noticeable. The Citra imparts a bit of tropical fruit that really blends in surprisingly well with the base witbier. Mouthfeel is at most medium bodied, though the beer delivers plenty of flavor (especially for a beer with a 5% abv.). The finish is clean, but with noticeable spice. There's a suggestion of sweetness in this beer, but it's actually pretty dry. Alcohol is very well integrated into the flavor profile and so drinkability is quite good.

Wasn't sure what to expect, but this is really a well crafted beer from the folks at Reubens. Impressive.
