Our homage to the warming winter ale, brewed with robust malts, a little rye, and classic PNW hops along with orange zest and cacao nibs. Imagine eating a milk chocolate orange in front of a glowing fireplace and you've got the right idea.

Pours a dark amber with a little head. Base beer is an excellent ale with orange zest coming through more than the cacao nibs (which was fine with me). I bought a 4 pack and liked it so much that I plan to go back and get another 4 pack.

BOD 10-23-2024 Pours a dark orange/brown color with a minimal head. Aroma is roasted malt and a slight orange smell. It has a medium mouthfeel, and the orange/chocolate taste is barely there. You get the orange zest in the finish. Nice smooth easy drinking Winter Warmer. TW&M

Moderate amount of ivory colored head. Kinda' cloudy, deep caramel tinged, dark orange appearance. Quite restrained level of dark chocolate and allspice tinge, with caramelized medium dark toasted barley malt aroma. Good amount of a sustaining, sharp, woody spice bite, which is the main flavor, along with medium dark roasted malts, in the background. Finish is more of the same.

Poured from 16oz can into my kasteel goblet. Canned 10/23/24; I got this in my 2024 Reuben’s advent calendar.
Appearance: rich, dark-amber hue with a clear body and a finger of tan foam atop. The color is rich and beautiful!
Smell: sweet and malty with a definite chocolate-orange aroma. I don’t think I’ve had many, if any, beers exploring orange-chocolate; this beer executes it pretty successfully!
Taste: well, it’s definitely sweet, but there’s enough stuff balancing it that I think it’s okay. First is a toastiness in the malt; then the orange and chocolate flavors come through, but not oppressively so. A well-put-together winter warmer.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: although winter warmer is definitely not my go-to beer style, I am liking this beer. It’s a one and done, for sure, but still a lovely sippin’ treat.

Handsome clear golden chestnut color with sticky foam in the Blanche de Chambly goblet. Rather nice aroma of browned barley with peaches in the nose. Somewhat sweet and malty with a scratchy finish. Hints of butter and nuts along with a mineral taste. Brambly and slightly astringent aftertaste. Eventually it's quite bitter in the aftertaste.
This always seems like a difficult style to get the right balance of sweet and fruity with something hoppy. This veers too far off into the darkness. It's exactly like a strong Amber Ale in the overhopped tradition. I wish I had a big bottle of old-school malt liquor to cut this with. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station. Dated 10/23/24.
