Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. Date is kinda hard to read but seems to be canned 11/15/24; this can came in my 2024 Reuben’s advent calendar.
Appearance: medium golden hue with plenty of haze and a finger of frothy ivory foam.
Smell: sweet with a large tropical fruity note and a dash of cinnamon. Just a little dab of cinnamon will do ya! I’m not certain the cinnamon elevates this aroma, but it’s not bad, and it’s certainly festive.
Taste: when I was a kid I used to mix together orange juice with a bit of milk and some cinnamon, and this beer is deeply reminiscent of that beverage. I think they call it “morir soñando” in the Caribbean. Anyway, this thing is tropical, citrusy, and cinnamoney — the vanilla is very mild, which I appreciate. I think it works pretty well!
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carboantion and creaminess.
Overall: I am gonna enjoy this can, but I wouldn’t drink two in a row. This beer is better than I was expecting, given the ingedient list, and so kudos to Reuben’s for that. A tasty treat in the one-and-done category!
