Been traveling in Laos for two weeks drinking a regular Beerlao nearly everyday. Today I branched out and tried a Beerlao White, and I’m very glad I did. It’s a nice, light wheat-ish beer (label says barley malt and rice but it drinks wheaty). Nice balance and delicately spiced. Good mouthfeel. Definitely worth a try.

It has a nice, light (even for an Asian beer) taste. Hints of fruit. BeerLao is one of the best breweries in the region.

Pours a very pale golden color with a big, fluffy head.
Smells of a light wheat impact, together with some white bread dough and nothing else to speak of.
Has a light and refreshing mouthfeel, with a perfectly nuanced effervescence among a fluffy, soft yeast pillow.
Tastes of ripe, tropical banana, bread dough and a wheat covered, soft yeast spiciniess. Turns a little peppery, with cloves and allspice adding to the flavors, which get amped up by an uprising, sparkly effervescence. Finishes light and mineralic, which just a hint of the spices prevailing among the carbonation and an overly sweet caramel maltiness.
This is pleasantly different, compared to the regular lao, integrating the witte flavor profile quite well.
