Reviewed from notes. Poured from bomber into a Cigar City snifter.
A: Pours a dark amber in color, and hazy to the point of opacity. Forms a finger's worth of white head and has fairly low visible carbonation. 3/5
S: Berry sweetness, bready malts, and some farmhouse yeast. 14/20
T: Berry tartness (mostly blackberry flavor), with a tang found in underripe fruit, bready malts, saison yeast, and some fruity acidic character and citric acid. The finish has light residual malt sweetness with some tang from the berries. 35/45
M: Medium body overall, which seems a bit heavy for a saison. Average level of carbonation sensation, and the alcohol is noticeable but doesn't detract. 7/10
O: The berry character here is natural but almost too much - especially given the underripe flavor. It makes it difficult to find the saison aspects in the beer. Still, I found it reasonably enjoyable. It does get less acidic, opening up and overall improving as the beer warms throughout. 15/20
Estimated final score: 3.81
Calculated final score: 74/100
Old BA score: 3.70

A: The beer is relatively clear reddish amber in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high off white head (with some reddish hues) that died down but consistently left a thin head covering the surface and a coating of bubbles down the sides of the glass.
S: Light aromas of blackberry juice are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of blackberries along with hints of blackberries and slight bits of alcohol and sweetness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: While the label says that this is an "Inperial Saison Ale", I didn't get any saison-like characteristics in this beer and thought it tasted more like a fruit/vegetable beer.
