We're continuing the "Travelling IPA" series into the spring and summer with this well balanced wheat IPA. A refreshing flavor profile containing two different wheat malts in addition to oats and honey malt meld with copious amounts of Columbus, Cascade and Nugget hops. The warmer weather of spring and summer is definitely a good time to get out and explore the "lesser known paths" in this world.

Thin with a kick is the best way to describe this selection. I'm guessing that this would pair nicely with a hot day a barbecue on the grill. This local brewer recently started canning and is worth a look.

Perfectly sculpted for summer, the taste of sun-ripened fruit, freshly baked bread and a faint floral whimsy greets the senses with the very first sip. One thing's for sure- the Blank Slate brewers capture a taste of warm weather regardless of the time of year.
Lesser Path greets the eye with a bright golden straw hue. Its bright clarity gleams with racing carbonated streams, taking on a shy champagne demeanor. But with the aromas popping with citrus, the nose of pink grapefruit open the window to flavors of orange along with tropical pineapple and apricot with floral honeysuckle and rose pedal.
Once settling on the palate, the flavors follow with a crisp honey-sweet and wafer character. Its grain is sweet and bready-dry as the carbonation makes quick work of the sweetness and prefers a hop balance beyond the middle. Trending bitter with citrus pith and soft pine, the taste continues to dry to an arid and refreshing structure.
Its soft resins provide a smooth bitterness that easily outlasts any sweetness or breadiness, doing so with dried orange peel, grapefruit pith and torn spruce needles. All that's left is a quick echo of wheat bread embedded deep in aftertaste.
