From BeerAdvocate magazine Issue #77 (June 2013):
LOOK: Hazy pale amber, ample froth
SMELL: Grassy, bready, quince paste, floral, elderberries, nutty, faint hop resin
TASTE: Solid malt backbone, smooth, medium bodied, peppery, chalky, orange rind, melon, bread, yeast, clean alcohol, hop bitterness, semidry finish
Quite balanced, even though it is a hop-forward brew; the New Zealand hops really add a great twist. This is exactly what more brewers need to do—experiment with different hops, especially for the hoppier style. Not your usual IPA, and drinkable for its size to boot.

Awesome, awesome, awesome. Great aroma, very citrusy and floral. Tastes amazing. Not overly bitter. The perfect balance in my opinion. Its full of flavor and very dangerous because of how drinkable it is. Compared to most other breweries in a 100big mile radius this IPA definetly ranks in the top 5.

Long Tom is a fantastic IPA. Tried on tap from the Brewery in Mariposa, Ca. Pours with a lightly hazed golden color and average head. Smell is almost tropical with hints of citrus. The flavor is similar, I could tell that Nelson is the dominant hop used. This is a very balanced beer for an IPA, it's my favorite year round beer from Prospector's. I always have a hard time putting it down, It hold its own against any other West Coast IPA out there. 4 bucks a pint and 12 dollar growler refills, the prices are very reasonable too!
