Don't get lost in the matrix, this IPA is the real deal! Sticky pops of dank hops and smooth swells of bright, bitter fruit flavors infuse to form an ultra hazy ale. Tropical, aromatic explosions burst out of a crackling, frothy head. A barrage of malts from Riverbend Malt House balance out the bitter, hop-forward body, making this brew perfectly balanced and almost too good to be true.

Making a good IPA isn't really all that hard. There's no reason to overthink it. But if you're a brewer, then you already obsess over small details in a hyperreality kind of way.

Hourglass's Hyperreality / Massurrealism hits the glass with a light golden honey amber before rising with an eggshell froth. A rising scent of citrus, tropical and stone fruit gives a sense of boldness while a grassy scent of spruce hangs in tow. Sweeter on the tongue, a firm malt backbone of honey, light caramel and bread crust create first impressions on the tongue.

But a quick recession of sweetness and a pop of hops shift gears quickly toward flavors of orange and pink grapefruit, and then mango and apricot before trailing into late tastes of pine, fresh grassiness and the bitterness of fruit peels.

Medium bodied and drying out much like traditional IPA, the beer finishes bitter, crisp and off-clean with a low level of hop derived astringency. A long and bitter aftertaste departs from hazier and juicier flavors but creates a more refreshing and drinkable session overall.

Good ne style. Better than most ne styles. Color is Atypical of NE Styles as is the head, nose and taste. I would argue this is not a NE Style and that is a great thing in my opinion!

This is a pretty good brew for 6%. Has a nice amber haze to it. Smell is not too strong but a little dank with some tropical. Malt flavor right out of the gate & fruity dank bitterness.
