Poured a black body with massive tan head that slowly died. The aroma comes across as mild and roasted chocolate with hint of coffee (espresso?). Smooth yet slightly sticky and fuller bodied with a chocolate sweetness that has hints of peppery spice and dark fruits like black cherry and/or figs. Clean finish although you do get a touch of heat and spice and overall a nice sipping stout.

Look: Extremely dark brown. One finger of thick milk chocolate head with long retention.

Smell: Sweet and musty cherries and rye bread.

Taste: Bittersweet. Roast coffee, rye bread, minor earthy bitterness that fades into rye.

Mouthfeel: Thick, creamy, almost sticky in the mouth. Virtually no carbonation.

Overall: A very unusual but successful experiment in rye stouts.
