An ok brown: a bit acerbic, and good bite, but hedging overboard on the burnt-sugars for my taste, considering this is a putative brown ale. Decent texture; lighter, almost "black-&-tan" brown color; lesser level of head, but big-time lacing. Good balance on the sweetness and body, but just too bitingly blackened-caramel bitter, especially in light of its lack of complexity or creaminess to cushion that predominant characteristic.
