an interesting little wild beer right here, with both lacto and brett in the nose and taste, although it sort of presents itself more as a quick lacto beer, there is definitely some funk and maturity to it as well. clearish for a wild ale, apple juice colored, without a lot of head but plenty of carbonation still visible. smells cool, moderate sharp lemony acidty and come horsey brett, fruity sweetness, honey, tang. it has almost hard cider elements of sweet and fruit in the flavor, although its resolved almost immediately by the wild yeasts. has an almost sour candy flavor, not so sour as a warhead or something, but that instant pucker backed by sweet is definitely happening. the brett is neat in the back half of the beer, i think its quite subtle but its absolutely there. makes it more of a saison type, less juicy, less sweet. the feel is a little off for me here, not early enough body (or grain character at all for that matter) in here, and even though there is some carbonation, it ends up feeling a bit watery. the flavor is far superior to the feel. decent beer overall, a little something different in a now crowded style category, but i dont think it demonstrates any great understanding of wild fermentation or anything. drinkable but a little weird.
