on tap at the famous horse brass pub. a weird beer in terms of style to pour in an imperial pint glass, but such is the case here. its just a little purple, more cloudy wheat looking, with a short off white head on it. the nose is crazy, really blueberry forward, but more like the dried little wild blueberries, reminds me of that old cereal blueberry morning with the little berries and almond slivers in it. the sourness is odd, really sort of quick lacto, a little stinky and sweaty in that way, with some funk too though and only a little acidity. its not too sweet from the fruit, but there is some sugar here, its almost more like a blueberry muffin than anything else, baked, grainy, hearty. i didnt love the flavor profile overall though, as unique as this is, there is just something about it that doesnt all the way work for me. its really in the yeast, not quite wild enough, or too rushed or something. red wine notes on the finish with the fruit. cool beer because its really different, but as a wild ale i think it could use a little cleaning up. my first beer from these guys, interesting recipe to say the least...
