Oh, yum! candy-coated aspirin! It's possible that some people could like this stuff, but I find it revolting. I will just sum it up as sweet candy with coffee cough syrup. The appearance is quite lovely, however, with long-lasting beige foam atop the clear dark garnet brew. Aroma is some kind of amped-up fruitcake, which would not be so bad unless you knew what's in store for your taste buds. I think it's the overdose of vanilla with the bitter spices that gets me. I'm not risking my plants so down the drain.

16oz can courtesy of my wife's boss
Poured into a Tired Hands willi becher
P pours dark chestnut w/ a tiny khaki head; quick recession
N med to med-bold aroma of dark sugars, toasted malt, marshmallow, and spices (cinnamon, nutmeg)
T pretty good; dry-ish toastuly malts combine with vanilla; finishes w/ a hearty dose of wintery spices; nicely done
Mf light-med bodied; med carb; suits the profile well and makes for good drinkability
O a solid wintery offering; really good flavor for 6.5% abv

This beer pours a reddish-brown color with a decent tan head that dissipates rather quickly. The aroma is roasted malts and vanilla with a touch of cinnamon at the finish. Mainly sweet with a hint of bitterness at the finish. Not your normal winter warmer, but nice medium bodied ale to sip on. 50 IBUs Rated 2-15-2024

Taster at Backwoods PDX. Dark, clear brown pour, ring of tan head. Aroma is nutmeg, cinnamon. Not your normal Christmas spice. Taste adds a bit of vanilla, but it's mostly the nutmeg. Not much sign of the base brown ale.
