A deep orange with a light white head and minimal lacing 3.75
S strong dark roasted coffee with some hoppy undertones. The mixture is a little odd and musky 3.5
T interesting evolution of flavors. Deep coffee roast and malty sweetness in the front, sharp hop in the back, finished by a boozy wash that clears the palate. 3.5
M this is very pleasant on the tongue. Properly carbonated. 4
O interesting beer, but the parts are better than the whole. A little funky--not sure the hops support the coffee 3.5

Coffee and IPA, why? Don't get me wrong, I like the two, but I can't recall if I've ever had the two together. Coffee Del is under this unique pressure, whether I will jump onto this sub-style or whine about it. On-tap at the source itself, on to the beer:
Brownish orange colored and is topped with adequate head retention. The aroma brings the fresh coffee alright, and also a fresh IPA too. The coffee seems to cut through tropical fruits and citrus provided by those lupulins, but without causing a major disruption. I was on the fence what I was getting myself into; this time luck was on my side. That IPA base is pleasing, first bringing grapefruit before a wave of roasted coffee comes in. Bittersweet cocoa with tangerine? Somehow it works. It's a medium bodied beer with a soft and oily feel.
Fresh beer served fresh at the brewery. The coffee IPA experience has been fulfilled, and Coffee Del is a delight.

On tap at Field Of Drafts held at The Hanger in Lancaster, CA.
Pours a hazy honey gold with a foamy beige head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, caramel, coffee, and citrus zest aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest and slight coffee flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer with a nice caramel frapuccino aroma but the taste doesn't quite match up in my opinion.
