Very dark, head just right for style. Nice coffee aroma, not strong. Taste mirrors aroma, nice mild coffee. Body good but with a light edge.

I've really enjoyed all of the Claremont Craft Ales offerings I've tried so far. This one is definitely the exception. It is not balanced at all and surprisingly bitter for a stout. Too carbonated in my opinion and surprisingly boozy for ~7% abv. Had to pour this one down the drain.

Roasted malt flavor dominates with some dark chocolate, faint coffee and a subtle hop presence. Decent.

On-tap at Claremont Craft Ales
The pour is black in color with a creamy khaki head. A fairly nice aroma to this beer. Plenty of coffee and roasted malt. Some chocolate, a light earthy hoppiness, and some mild toffee sweetness. The flavor has more of a charred quality to it. Some hints of ash and acidity. Coffee, licorice, and intense roast. Lacks the sweetness of the chocolate and toffee that were present on the nose. A light bitterness on the finish.
