(from notes) This Belgian style ale poured with a hazy orange-amber with a good head.
Very strange aroma with hints of rotten soft fruits. Foreboding but the flavor is nonetheless worse than expected. Lots of fresh fig here but a moderately high bitterness too that doesn't fit. Full body with medium carbonation.

Picked this bottle up almost a year ago and finally going to try this thing. Pours a clear plum color with just over a finger of head. The head had good retention before settling to a thin cap. A little bit of lacing gets left behind on the glass.
Faint aroma of berries and fruit. Not bad but nothing too interesting either. Would be good if it was stronger.
The flavor is a huge letdown. A little bit of fruitiness upfront and then it quickly disappears and I am left with an alcohol burn. No depth to this beer what so ever. There is no tartness or acidity evident but I am left with a little caramel sweetness. Chalky finish.
Actually has a fairly good body and carbonation. Too bad the flavor is so poor because you do not really want sitting in the mouth any longer than needed.
Has some good qualities but fails terribly where it counts most. Should of left this bottle sit and found something better to drink, or better yet, left it at John's Grocery in Iowa City.
