I managed to stir up a head on this beer but I had to work hard and it didn't last long. Cloudy copper color.

Smells lemony and banana.

Tastes very tart hiding all other flavors. When I got used to the tartness, I could taste the banana and some spices.

Mouthfeel is light and slightly carbonated.

I suppose I could drink one and then enjoy the second one or eat a package of sweet-tarts first but why bother? This beer is just too sour.

Moderate bannana aroma with a slight sour note and a bit of bready malt. Malt flavor is strong in addition to the bannana ans and lemon. Tart and a bit sour in the finish. Mouthfeel is solid for the style. Drinkable and fairly refreshing but not quite screaming summer like many other Hefes.

Cloudy with a slight, coarse head. Smells delish--pancake batter, yeast, and whiff of banana. However, despite what the other reviewers have noted, I don't taste much banana here at all. Clove, yes, maybe even allspice notes. A tang not lemony, but rather metallic in the middle. Yeast and tang on the finish. Too many other good, mainstream German hefes that are sold to the plebes make this microbrew decidedly disappointing.

Is it just me, or do a lot of microbrewed, German-style hefeweizens tend to have more of the banana and cloves flavor than the lemon? Anyhow, this beer sparked that little question. Definitely traces of banana flavor. Otherwise, this is more or less just your standard hefe. Pretty tasty.

One of two beers from the Ann Arbor BA event that I felt I had enough taste of to review. It was also my first of the evening so the memories of the taste are still clear.

Poured out to a fairly bright golden color. Nose was somewhat that of biscuits with a faint wheat aroma. Taste was light and refreshing, with banana and clove evident. An easy to consume beer.

Kudos to Todd Leopold and his bro for sticking to their guns and brewing the styles they like.

A nice hefe for sure.
