Appearance Deep, hazy orange in color with a gorgeous, tanned head.
Smell The rich, hearty malt base is evenly mixed with minty pine and a good, strong citrus.
Taste The caramel-laden malts are rich, thick, and chewy. The deep citrus and pine hops are here in force as well. This IPA is both complex and rich. The light peppery spices round things out nicely.
Mouthfeel This is the ales strong point, IMO. It is exceptionally well-balanced with a solid medium body and a very satisfying, dry finish.
Drinkability The ISA represents a new level of refinement for this hearty American style. The only problem I had finishing the growler myself was the large mugs of it that my wife kept drinking.
Comments Big thanks to the traveling skyhand for getting me this rare PacNW gem that otherwise would have eluded me for sure. The growler was expertly filled and much appreciated on NYC Pizza Night.

Had this on tap at Redbones. Although they call it "ISA" I think it may have been a type-o. Cloudy-ish copper yellow color. Nice malt taste with a hop bit ethat bites you in the ass at the end. Very interestin beer and one that is very hard to describe. I would not think of it as the normal IPA. Much different indeed. I must have it again. Wonderful.

On tap at Redbones...
Pours a rich, deep copper color, with an inviting, creamy tan head. Lace sticks real well in the glass! Nose is quite citrusy, though not overpoweringly so. As it goes over the tongue, the bier displays medium body and a decent smoothness. The flavor is citrusy throughout, though it doesn't whack you upside the head with grapefruits or anything. A pinch of breadiness is present at the beginning of each sip, too. Not bad at all...
