Once again, I cracked open a beer that I traded for ages ago except this one didn't have anything legible stamped on the bottom of the can. This was the first beer that I had from Rushing Duck and aside from the Neocon references on the label, this was something that came across as straightforward and enjoyable - even if it was a bit too true to stylistic form...
Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was a deep apricot with some light seeping in around the edges. Lots of fine, hazy sediment in it and there was enough foamy head to top it off though the lacing could have been a bit thicker once I started to give this a sip. Tropical fruit, bright citrus, booze, nectarine sweetness, and deep pine filled the nose as the taste was just as bright, full, and dank as the aroma led on. Mosaic or Galaxy-like hops emerged in the taste as this came across as an imperial version of Barrier's Daddy Warbucks. Deep forest funk, pine, and hop oils really shone through once this fully warmed up as this went down relatively smoothly given it's heft...
Plenty of "Imperial" to this IPA but the alcohol wasn't a detraction as the flavors were allowed to fully emerge as this warmed up. Lots of tangerine tang, wet dew, and a basic but full malt rounded this out as this beer really came to life once it warmed up. Nice job by Rushing Duck and Barrier with this one as it was an Imperial IPA worthy of the style but not gimmicky enough to be a cliche. Worth seeking out for hopheads looking for the full, savory experience on the tongue!

Beer is a beautiful orange/amber color. Nice head.
Smells of pine trees and grapefruit. Great Smell.
Great mouth feel, very smooth.
The taste is great on this beer. It is not heavy at all considering it is 9.2%
Overall it is a very solid beer, and a great offering to have in a can.

L: Pours pale orange with a finger of white head.
S: Smells a lot like War Elephant. Orange, mango, tangerine.
T: Follows nose but Daddy warbucks dominates. Piney bitterness. A bit hot.
F: Medium body, Moderate carbonation. Sticky.
O: Not bad. Just not a big fan of Daddy Warbucks. Love the War part, but also just too much heat from the alcohol.

Pours a lightly hazy vibrant dark orange in color with maybe a half finger of short lived off white head. Aroma has a sweet note throughout with some artificial tropical fruits and a bit of alcohol heat. The taste has some citrus and pine notes that are familiar from War Elephant but really features a candied tropical fruit profile. The finish differs from the clean malt of War Elepehant and instead features a sweeter caramel note with a fair bit of alcohol; based on the taste I'm not shocked that this is 9+% ABV. Medium-light body and moderate carbonation. Overall this is a decent beer but I didn't enjoy this early as much as War Elephant. This may have suffered because I had this immediately after War Elephant.

This one pours a light clear amber, with a small head and a good amount of lacing.
Smells like resinous hop oil, with a good amount of dank pine, grapefruit pith, and orangey sweetness.
This tastes basically the same- it's a bruiser and pretty boozy. I don't remember War Elephant being this hot- it must be the Daddy Warbucks. The booze could definitely be hidden better. There's a pretty nice lingering bitterness, with pure hop oil attack. Bitter grapefruit and some very light orange tangerine sweetness round out the flavor profile. There's not much malt character.
This is surprisingly light bodied for the ABV, with a normal level of carbonation.
This was good, but honestly a bit too boozy.

Great all around beer. Def want this beer again. Overall very balanced and pours a a very slight creamy head. This beer is a solid IPA, one of my favorites. medium bodied yet hides the alcohol content well.

Another winner from RD. Excellent IPA - So smooth and easy to drink yet full of flavor. Not overly juicy but enough - bought cans at the brewery and everyone I shared with loved it. A few years back being in North Jersey my brewery options were few and not very good. Now with RD, Magnify, Twin Elephant and the Alementary all putting out great beers - things are looking up.

Poured from 16 oz. can into Rushing Duck Belgian glass. It pours a turbid apricot color with a thin, milk-white head and lacing. It smells of mango, peach, grapefruit, pine needles, and floral hops. It is absolutely decadent: fruity but not sweet, hoppy but not overly bitter, and with a solid malty backbone. The flavors blend wonderfully. It is medium-bodied, really pleasantly carbonated, and the 9.2% ABV gives it real substance. This stuff is outrageously good and one might expect from Rushing Duck and Barrier. It's a shame this is a one-time offering; I hope they find a way to brew it again.
