On draught at the brewery. 12 oz. pour. It pours a golden-orange color with a half finger of bright white head and a thin coating of creamy lacing. The smell is mostly citrus: tangerine, lemon, and grapefruit, along with earthy grass and floral hops. The taste follows the nose with lots of tart and bitter lemon, lime, and grapefruit. There is no sweet fruit to speak of. There is also an earthy grass taste. The Azacca hops are delicate but flavorful; there is little, if any, hop bitterness. This ale is medium-bodied and features lively carbonation. The 7.9% ABV delivers a noticeable pop. Overall, like the others in the RDR&D series, Azacca is solid. The flavors and distinct and bold and there's a pleasing mouth feel. This ale paired well with a Michigan-style hot dog and chips.
