Pint on draught at the brewery. It pours a murky, turbid, muddy orange color with a thin milk white cap and spotty lacing. It's an unusual color. The smell opens with caramel malt and mild citrus and pine. There is also a whiff of black tea and subtle tropical notes. The taste is also unusual. It opens with caramel malt and a hint of chocolate - not unlike a Tootsie Roll - followed by tart lemon and grapefruit, subtle tropical fruit, and fresh, resinous pine that almost tastes like spruce tips. The bill of Mosaic, Simcoe, and Centennial hops is highly flavorful and provides a bitter bite at the finish. This ale is medium-bodied with pleasantly lively carbonation, and the moderate 6.5% ABV allows for easy drinking. Overall, this is an unusual ale but a tasty one. I agree with the description that it's a lighter version of Rushing Duck's Kroovy, which I really like.
