Pint pour on draught at Rushing Duck. It pours a totally opaque, brownish-gold color with a creamy, bright white head and thick coating of lacing. It's a really attractive pour. On the nose there is lemon, grass, biscuit, a whiff of vanilla cream, and lite floral hops. The taste opens with tart lemon peel and grapefruit rind. There is only a trace of sweet fruit. There are also notes of cracker malt. The hop bill includes Nelson Sauvin, Chinook, and Columbia, and this ale is very bitter. It's lite and crisp and there is a strong dose of pepper at the finish. The mouth feel is creamy and viscous with moderate carbonation, and it's potent at 8.8% ABV. Overall, Tap Roulette looks like a NEIPA with its haziness but it drinks like a West Coast hoppy IPA. It's dry, bitter as hell, and delightful to drink. It paired very well with a pulled pork sandwich. I'm hoping Tap Roulette is not a one-off.
