A barley wine rich with malt, which gives it a deep red caramel color. Has notes of caramel, toffee and maple, with a touch of sticky sweetness.

On draught at the brewery. It pours a pretty, orange/amber color with a thin, ecru-colored head and minimal lacing. The aromatic smell features raisin, apple, plum, toffee, brown sugar, and maple syrup. It really pops as the glass warms. As the taste opens, the maple syrup dominates, along with caramel, brown sugar, and raisin. It's very sweet - almost cloying, but in an inoffensive way. However, as the glass warms the fruit becomes more evident - particularly the tangy apple. There is also a slight bitterness at the finish. The feel is sticky - almost syrupy - with a low level of carbonation, and you can feel the warming from the 12,7% ABV. Overall, Don't Be The Worst is a tasty, well-crafted barleywine. It's definitely on the sweet side and has a cordial-like quality. It's best suited as a dessert sipper.
